Jayson Tatum started playing basketball at a young age and showed great potential as a high school player at Chaminade College Preparatory School in Missouri. He was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year and a McDonald’s All-American in 2016. He then played one season of college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils, where he averaged 16.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game and earned third-team All-ACC honors.
