Paul Cattermole, one of the singers of the popular British pop group S Club 7, has died at the age of 46, his family and bandmates have confirmed. He was found at his home in Dorset on Thursday and pronounced dead later that day. The cause of death has not been revealed, but police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
Cattermole was part of S Club 7, a seven-member group created by music mogul Simon Fuller in 1998. They had a string of hit singles, such as Reach, Don’t Stop Movin’, and Never Had a Dream Come True, and starred in their own TV shows. They sold over 10 million albums worldwide and won two Brit Awards.
The band announced a reunion tour for later this year, which Cattermole was preparing to join. He had been seen smiling and walking outdoors on Wednesday, according to the Daily Mail.
His bandmates expressed their shock and sadness on Twitter, writing: “We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us.”
Fans also shared their condolences and tributes online, using the hashtag #RIPPaulCattermole. Many recalled their childhood memories of listening to S Club 7 songs and watching their shows.
