Career: Brown started her acting career in 2013 with a guest role in the ABC fantasy drama series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. She then appeared in various TV shows such as Intruders, NCIS, Modern Family, and Grey’s Anatomy. She rose to fame in 2016 with her breakthrough role as Eleven, a telekinetic girl, in the Netflix science fiction horror series Stranger Things. She was born with partial hearing loss in her left ear and gradually lost all hearing in that ear over several years. She moved with her family back to England when she was four, settling in Bournemouth; when she was eight, the family moved to Orlando, Florida. She attended acting workshops to pass time on Saturdays, where she was discovered by a Hollywood talent scout who told her parents that she had natural instincts for acting. They moved to Los Angeles and within three months, Brown was cast as young Alice in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.
