The Atlanta Hawks are heading to the playoffs after a convincing win over the Miami Heat in a play-in tournament game on Tuesday night. The Hawks dominated the boards and the second-chance points to beat the Heat 116-105 and earn the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Hawks were led by Trae Young, who scored 25 points and dished out nine assists. Clint Capela had a monster game with 21 points and 21 rebounds, while Dejounte Murray added 18 points and six steals. The Hawks also got a huge boost from their bench, which outscored the Heat’s reserves 53-18.

The Heat was unable to repeat their performance from last season when they reached the NBA Finals after eliminating the Hawks in the first round. Kyle Lowry had a season-high 33 points, but he didn’t get much help from his teammates. Tyler Herro scored 26 points, but Jimmy Butler was held to 21 points on 8-of-22 shooting.

The Heat will now have to play another game on Friday against either the Raptors or the Bulls to decide the No. 8 seed and a matchup with the top-seeded Bucks in round one. The Hawks will face the No. 2 seed Celtics, who swept them in the regular season.

The Hawks fans were jubilant after the game and took to social media to celebrate their team’s achievements. Many of them praised Young and Capela for their stellar performances and expressed their confidence in facing the Celtics.
