Titus was Roman Emperor. He served Rome for just two years, before dying of a fever. He was born on 30 December 39 in Rome, Italy. The elder son of Vespasian succeeded his father in his death. From ca. 57 to 59 he was a military tribune in Germania. In ca. 63 he married Arrecina Tertulla. She died c. 65. Then Titus married Marcia Furnilla whose family was closely linked to the opposition to Nero. He served in Britain and in Germany and captured and destroyed Jerusalem in 70. He came into power after his father's death on 24 June 79. Titus Flavius Vespasianus died on 13 September 81. His brother, Domitian became the new emperor. He was buried at the Mausoleum of Augustus, Rome, Italy.
